Saturdays!

Saturdays are the best. I get so much accomplished. And, today was no different!

I started the morning out with a fun maternity session. A session that we have rescheduled once already because of the dreary, foggy weather! And, of course today it was perhaps even more dreary and more foggy. But, we didn't let that stop us and I am really glad we didn't because they turned to be great!

I have known Adam practically my whole life and could easily tell you a ton of stories about the shenanigans of my brother and Adam. I won't mention any particular incidents, but just know they were a mess growing up!

I was so happy when Erin asked me to take their maternity pictures and I absolutely loved hanging out with them this morning in such a lovely location!

After leaving Erin and Adam, I headed to meet Shelley and her little family for a few Christmas pictures. Have I mentioned how adorable her kiddos are? Oh my gosh! Just adorable! See for yourself!

And, after leaving the Denson family, I headed to meet Stratton and his mom for a few senior photos! I can't believe Stratton is a senior! Ahh! I remember going to the insurance agency when I was in high school and Stratton running around playing and still in high school! Thankfully, the fog was starting to lift by this point and the sun was starting to peek out just a little!

And, I ended my day with a super secret project! Perhaps I can post after the Holiday season! Fingers crossed because it is fun! :)

And, now I am going to be spending a few hours in front of my computer catching up and getting ready for another full day tomorrow including a family christmas, first birthday and more!

Have a great weekend! You only have one day left ... Enjoy it!

Little Miss Honey Bee Pageant 2014

This past weekend was a busy one starting with a pageant and ending with a beautiful, foggy family session!

But, before I blog about the rest of the weekend, I need to take a post to talk about the Little Miss Honey Bee Pageant.

You see, I am from a small town. Also, known as the "Land of Milk and Honey!" Every year we have a festival the first Saturday in December appropriately named "The Minco Honey Festival." The festival is always filled with tradition and last year they started a new tradition ... thus the pageant was born.

It is such a wonderful new addition. The little contestants are students in the local school and are as cute as they can be. This year I had two of the contestants ask me to come and take pictures of them while they compete and then a few photos afterwards... just something fun while they were all gussied up! I immediately said "yes" because I knew these two girls are just absolutely precious and their families are two of my favorites!

Therefore, meet Aspyn and Hallie!

These two are absolutely the sweetest girls. I can't tell you how excited they were for each other after the pageant. To see young girls sharing so much joy is a lesson we could all learn from! Their families are definitely raising them right!

And, did I mention how beautiful these two are and don't even get me started on their dresses. Just beautiful! Here are a few of my favorites from the day... although, I have a lot more look at before I pick my top favorites!

Sundays are made for photos!

My Sunday was eventful to say the least... and eventful day of photography which is something I love more than anything!

I started my day out with this super super cute newborn in Tuttle! Just look how cute he is! We had a blast playing dress up with Baby Easton... he went from a little Christmas baby to a teddy bear to a baseball player to a football player back to a baseball player and finishing as a dinosaur! I am not sure he loved it as much as his mommy, daddy and I, but never the less we left there with some super cute pictures!

And, a special shout out to his daddy for being the best prop man/baby puke cleaner up man/ swaddle wrapping man out there! Thank you for all your help today!

After I left Easton and his parents, I headed back to Minco for a fun session with Jerad, Korie and Dolly Parton! The wind was starting to pick up by this point, but we persevered and managed to get some sweet shots! My little cousin, Kalie, absolutely loves these two and when I showed her the pictures from today she said "those are some good photos!"... and I must agree with my Kalie! She has a good eye! ;) Thank you Burchfield's for letting me hang with you all!

After the Burchfield's, I headed to one of my oldest friends farm for another family session! By this point the wind was really really getting up, so we had to make the best of it. Fortunately, the wind calmed down enough to grab a few shots out in the open field on the couch (thanks for loading it in the truck, Daddy and Brother) and then we found a pretty place out of the wind!

All the photos today and all that walking through fields and grasses and I didn't even fall once or loose my keys. Talk about a win-win ... especially for me!

I can only share one of these two... until I find out if I can even be sharing any of them (just in case they are Christmas gifts!)

And, now to one of my more memorable parts of today... I call this "Reality: Life With a Toddler!" We will try again another day! haha But, I am glad I got to see Tate and Lori today and now Lori has some super funny pictures for her mommy blog! :)

And, then I went to my grandparent's house, ate some dinner with my family and now sitting in my cozy house looking at my fun tree and editing my life away!

What a great day! Blessed to be doing what I love and getting to work with clients that are so great and so much fun! Thank you!

Tree Bokeh

I love Christmas.
I love Christmas Trees.
I love Christmas Tree Bokeh!
I love Christmas Tree Bokeh with bright colors!

My little Christmas tree had a face lift this year. I have had this tree with me since 2009 and it has made eight moves since then-- and this year it is finally starting to look like I have always wanted it to look. I added in almost everything Christmasy that I own... and a few things that are not Christmasy at all! ;)

#tbt- senior style

Hailey was one of my first senior sessions when I first started photography way back when and one of the main reasons why I absolutely LOVE senior photography! So, since it is Thursday ... here is one of my favorites from back in the "before I knew what I know now and sometimes think it was easier before knowing what I know now" days!

Thank you Hailey for trusting a newbie with your senior photos back then!

Ha-bee-y Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Lucy isn't much for dressing up-- But, I made her anyways. She intently barked at the neighbor dogs the entire time I tried to get her to be still for one shot... but, I managed for one even though you can see her hate and discontentment toward said neighbor dogs in her eyes.

But, nevertheless we hope you had a wonderful halloween and a happy weekend!

Spooks and bees,
