Welcome 2015!

A new year means different things to different people. I usually don't put much stock in to this whole "new year, new me" business, but this year is already looking like much change will happen, so I am going to be start today with new things.

And, to kick off 2015, I have decided a new logo is needed! I have been working on something new for almost four months, but between sessions and my indecisive nature I haven't been able to really nail down anything. I wanted it to be something that I love obviously, but something that also incorporated in the elements from my previous logo concept. It took me a while, but  alas I settled on this!

So, welcome to the new and improved B.Davis Photography blog! More exciting new things are going to be added in the coming months, but for today I am kicking off a new logo and a challenge project... but more to come on that via Instagram and Facebook!

Be sure to check back throughout the day to see the winners of the 2014 Appreciation Drawing! All clients from 2014 are automatically entered to win a mini session to be used at anytime throughout 2015 for any special occasion or just for fun! Each name is entered once for every shoot... so, if you had three sessions then your name is entered three times, etc.

The drawing will be held Jan. 1, 2015! The first winner will be announced at 3 p.m.!

Plaid Printed Tops and Green Colored Tractors ...

... these are a few of my favorite things!

I so enjoyed spending time across Gin Road at the Mitchell/Elrod Family Christmas! This was one of my immediate favorite photos, so before I say good night tonight I had to share at least one! Stay tuned for more from this fun family as well as a few new announcements to kick off the new year!

New Gadget Fun.

Because when you get new toys to play with it is only logical to test them out on yourself first... even if there is snow on the ground. So therefore, I present my very own headshot snow photo shoot using my brand new tri-pod, camera remote and edited with my awesome new trackpad mouse!

And, then your friend honks at you while driving by and it gets awkward mid shot... haha

Well, that was fun and now I am freezing ... so in I go to drink hot chocolate from my lens mug (Thank you, Goodman's) and finish watching "I Love Lucy" season 1!

Happy Snow Day, Friends!

Boo For Sickness.

Who really has time to be sick anyways. I have so much to do ... including finishing a couple last minute session, wrapping presents, buying presents (because I am a procrastinator), making holiday foods, Christmas cards... yeah more like New Year Cards, etc., etc., etc.

And, midst all of this my body decides to be sickly. Blah! But, on the plus side I took a little nap after work today and now I am wide awake to work on a few photos sessions while I am not feeling so blah. So, first up is little baby Cohen. This was my first time meeting little Cohen and he is absolutely precious. His little round cheeks and and big eyes had me at "hello!"

These are just two of my immediate favorite while I was flipping through all the photos, but I can tell there will be many more!

And, then there are these two girls!  I had a blast hanging out with these two sweet sisters. And, I have decided that sibling shoots are my new favorites!

I also met up with these three ornery boys for a few quick pictures on Sunday morning! There momma and I went to high school together and it is always such fun getting to catch up with Britney and see how much the boys have grown since seeing them last! Catching up with old friends is one of my favorite things about this hobby of mine! I love when I get chat and meet their kiddos for the first time! It is always so much fun!

The Goodman Family

This family.

They are one of my favorites. They have been with me since the beginning of my photography journey and I am so thankful each time they ask me to capture one of their family milestones. From pre-engagment photos to christmas photos to first birthdays to wedding to family photos, I have just loved having them as clients and friends ... (I grew up with them both so they are stuck with having me as a friend forever, haha)

Thank you for sticking with me from the beginning-- like back in the days when I thought a tilted photo was a good idea and sometimes shot on auto because manual settings weirded me out! And, thank you for being the most stylish and fun little family to hang out with!

Saturdays!

Saturdays are the best. I get so much accomplished. And, today was no different!

I started the morning out with a fun maternity session. A session that we have rescheduled once already because of the dreary, foggy weather! And, of course today it was perhaps even more dreary and more foggy. But, we didn't let that stop us and I am really glad we didn't because they turned to be great!

I have known Adam practically my whole life and could easily tell you a ton of stories about the shenanigans of my brother and Adam. I won't mention any particular incidents, but just know they were a mess growing up!

I was so happy when Erin asked me to take their maternity pictures and I absolutely loved hanging out with them this morning in such a lovely location!

After leaving Erin and Adam, I headed to meet Shelley and her little family for a few Christmas pictures. Have I mentioned how adorable her kiddos are? Oh my gosh! Just adorable! See for yourself!

And, after leaving the Denson family, I headed to meet Stratton and his mom for a few senior photos! I can't believe Stratton is a senior! Ahh! I remember going to the insurance agency when I was in high school and Stratton running around playing and still in high school! Thankfully, the fog was starting to lift by this point and the sun was starting to peek out just a little!

And, I ended my day with a super secret project! Perhaps I can post after the Holiday season! Fingers crossed because it is fun! :)

And, now I am going to be spending a few hours in front of my computer catching up and getting ready for another full day tomorrow including a family christmas, first birthday and more!

Have a great weekend! You only have one day left ... Enjoy it!

Little Miss Honey Bee Pageant 2014

This past weekend was a busy one starting with a pageant and ending with a beautiful, foggy family session!

But, before I blog about the rest of the weekend, I need to take a post to talk about the Little Miss Honey Bee Pageant.

You see, I am from a small town. Also, known as the "Land of Milk and Honey!" Every year we have a festival the first Saturday in December appropriately named "The Minco Honey Festival." The festival is always filled with tradition and last year they started a new tradition ... thus the pageant was born.

It is such a wonderful new addition. The little contestants are students in the local school and are as cute as they can be. This year I had two of the contestants ask me to come and take pictures of them while they compete and then a few photos afterwards... just something fun while they were all gussied up! I immediately said "yes" because I knew these two girls are just absolutely precious and their families are two of my favorites!

Therefore, meet Aspyn and Hallie!

These two are absolutely the sweetest girls. I can't tell you how excited they were for each other after the pageant. To see young girls sharing so much joy is a lesson we could all learn from! Their families are definitely raising them right!

And, did I mention how beautiful these two are and don't even get me started on their dresses. Just beautiful! Here are a few of my favorites from the day... although, I have a lot more look at before I pick my top favorites!
